PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania track and field teams opened the outdoor season on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Field, collecting 11 victories between the men and women's squads.

On the track, the women secured four victories plus a win in the 4x100m relay with a time of 46.33.
Moforehan Abinusawa earned a victory at the 200m, clocking a time of 24.33. At the 400m,
Jocelyn Niemiec took first with a time of 56.39, as she led in a trio of Quakers in the top three spots (
Lily Orr and
Caia Gelli). Same distance but with hurdles,
Aliya Garozzo cruised to a top spot with a time of 59.96. In the distance races,
Olivia Morganti paced eight total Quakers in the 1,500m, coming through in first at 4:26.98.

The men saw wins in two individual events as well as taking both relay races for the day. Individually,
Andrew O'Donnell secured the top finish in the 400m with a time of 48.94, while
Liam O'Hara came through in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.55. During the relays portion, the men wont the 4x100m (41.06) and the 4x400m (3:17.29).

On the infield, Penn earned victories in two events: the men's pole vault and women's triple jump. At the pole vault,
James Rhoads cleared 4.90m (16-0.75) for a top finish. At the sand pits,
Tamara Grahovac jumped 12.73m (41-9.25) on her sixth and final attempt for first place. Olutuminu Onaleye came in second behind Grahovac with a distance of 12.00m (39-4.50), a mark good enough to shift her into 10th in program history.

The Quakers return to action next weekend, splitting up for two meets in the south. Part of the team will head to the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State from Thursday to Saturday, while others will travel to Miami for the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational on Saturday.
