LEXINGTON, Ky. – Jessica Oji and
Lily Murphy both qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the East First Round on Thursday.
Oji punched her ticket to the national championships in the women's shot put. On her first attempt, she took over the competition recording a mark of 18.62m (59' 11"). She is the first woman in Penn history to have qualified for the outdoor nationals in the women's shot put.
Murphy closed out the day in the women's 10,000m finishing fifth with a time of 32:53.30. She will be making her second trip to Eugene, Ore. having last qualified for nationals in the 10,000m in 2024.
Amelia Kristen advanced to the 400m hurdles quarterfinals finishing 20th with a time of 57.98. Kristen is set to run on Saturday at 7:25 p.m.
