EUGENE, Ore. - Penn freshman
Jessica Oji wrapped up her freshman season in the red and blue with her second career first team All-America honor at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday.
Oji, who finished seventh in shot put at the indoor championships, recorded a mark of 17.92m (58' 9.5") in the third round. She improved her mark to 17.98m (59' 0") on her fifth attempt to secure first team All-America honors outdoors.
She becomes the second woman in Penn history to earn first team All-America honors in the same event, joining Nia Akins, who accomplished the feat in the 800m (indoors and outdoors) in 2019.
Senior
Lily Murphy closed her career at Penn with a 23rd place finish in the 10,000m with a time of 33:13.58. She is the first woman in program history to earn honorable mention honors in the 10,000m at the NCAA Championships.
