MISSION

The Pottruck Center for Student-Athlete Success (CSAS) supports Penn student-athletes through comprehensive programs and services that promote holistic development, wellness, engagement, and success.

VISION

While enrolled at Penn, every student-athlete will have the opportunity to set holistic goals, develop a broad range of skills and capacities, forge meaningful relationships, and engage in experiences that will help them throughout their lives, forever linking them to the Penn Athletics community.

AREAS OF SUPPORT:

ACADEMIC SUCCESS -------

CSAS academic services team provides comprehensive support and advocacy for Penn student-athletes. The CSAS Academic Services team does not replicate or replace a student's assigned academic advisor in their Penn school.  The academic services team works closely with academic advisors and School (athletic) Eligibility Officers to navigate curriculum challenges, roadblocks, or other things that arise during a student-athlete's collegiate experience. Click here for additional information.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT -------

CSAS Leadership Development runs academic-year-specific experiences of the Penn Athletics Wharton Leadership Academy in conjunction with Wharton faculty and in collaboration with CSAS staff in the areas of career and community development. CSAS staff ensure that student-athletes have the education and experience to become strong leaders while at Penn and throughout their life.

CSAS is committed to aligning with the University principles and practices of deepening connection with our communities and fostering leadership and service. We prioritize community service, community partnerships, civic engagement, and student-athlete community-building opportunities for Penn student-athletes each year. Click here for further details!

MENTAL HEALTH & MENTAL PERFORMANCE -------

Led by an embedded Mental Health Therapist and supported by a partnership with Onrise, CSAS offers mental health information and services for varsity student-athletes, including sport performance support, 1:1 mental health counseling, referrals for psychiatry, and various additional mental health resources. Mental health support also provides tailored outreach and educational programming to reduce stigma, increase awareness, and promote mental wellness within the athletics community. Further, our mental performance training collaborates with the Penn Athletics Wharton Leadership Academy (PAWLA) to help student-athletes develop skills to promote success in their academic, professional, and athletic lives.
