PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up the Quaker Invitational on Saturday at the Jane and David Ott Center for Track and Field.
Liam Going and
Kai Eisenhardt shattered the indoor school records in the 1000m and pole vault, respectively.
Going finished second among collegiate athletes competing in the 1000m invite recording a personal-best time of 2:22.95. Josh Hoey of Fast 8TC broke the American record clocking in at 2:14.48, second fastest time in the world.
Eisenhardt cleared a personal-best height of 4.05m (13' 3.5") in the women's pole vault, finishing third.
Quaker Notemeal
Throws
Stella Inman set a personal-best mark in the women's weigh throw finishing first at 18.16m (59' 7"). Ella Neskora placed second throwing 16.44m (53' 11.25").
In the women's shot put, Angeludi Asaah claimed second putting 14.06m (46' 1.50") in the sixth round.
Sprints / Relays
Sprinter Fore Abinusawa dominated the women's 60m dash recording a season-best time of 7.30, first in the Ivy League. Abinusawa also ranks first in the 200m recording a time of 23.97, finishing second.
Jocelyn Niemiec crossed the finish line first among collegiate athletes in the 500m at 1:11.43. Milan Ramey, Niemiec, Amelia Kristen, and Annika Topchy took second in the women's 4x400m relay with a time of 3:46.01.
Alex Sadikov, Nayyir Newash-Campbell, David Davitt, and Jasyn Truitt claimed first in the men's relay with a time 3:14.59.
Distance
Senior Kyle Miller crossed the finish line first in the men's 1000m with a personal-best time 2:23.92, followed by Nicholas Pizarro in third at 2:25.01.
Quin Stovall placed second in the women's race with a career-best time of 2:49.63. Nora Wollen and Katie Pou finished second (9:47.94) and third (9:48.73) in the women's 3000m, respectively.
Jumps
Freshman Takunda Mhete won his second meet of the season jumping a personal-best distance of 14.95m (49' 0.75") in the triple jump, ranked third in the Ivy League.
Kampton Kam tied for second in the men's high jump clearing the bar at a height of 2.05m (6 '8.75").
Pentathlon
Freshman Sarah Dumas finished third in the pentathlon on Friday, Jan. 17 scoring 3478 points.
