PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's cross country teams open the 2025 season on Friday at the New Jersey Jam, hosted by Princeton. The men's 5.6k is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m., followed by the women's 4k at 6:30 p.m. at Princeton's Meadows Campus.

This will mark the first of two showings for the Quakers on the course this season, returning on Oct. 17 for the Princeton Fall Classic.
The Penn women's team returns
Kyra Compton,
Lara Cota, and
L'Mio Edwards. Compton scored 48
th at the 2024 Ivy League Cross Country Championships clocking in a time of 21:36.4. Cota finished 57
th with a personal-best 6k time of 21:52.1.
Edwards placed 64
th at the 2024 NCAA Mid-Atlantic XC Regional recording a 6k time of 21:26.6. She opened last season placing fourth at the New Jersey Jam running a personal-best 4k time of 14:12.3.
Nick Carpenter,
Sahil Dodda, and
Liam Going crossed third, fourth, and fifth for the men's team at the 2024 Ivy League Championships, Penn men placed fourth with 101 points. Carpenter scored 23
rd with an 8k time of 23:51.5, followed by Dodda scoring 24
th at 23:52.3 and Going (37
th) at 24:22.5.
