Quakers Set for NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's cross country teams travel to Bethlehem, Pa. on Friday to compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, hosted by Lehigh.

2025 Regular Season Highlights
Lara Cota finished second at the Jersey Jam on Sept. 5 recording a personal-best 4.1k time of 14:07.4. Cota ran a 6k time of 20:51.7 at the Paul Short Run. Gabby Jones followed closely behind at 20:51.9. Jones recording a personal-best 6k time of 20:50.3 at the Princeton Fall Classic. 

The women's team won the season opener at Princeton scoring 32 points. Cota took second, followed by Jones in fourth, Izzy Rodriguez in fifth, L'Mio Edwards in ninth, and Kyra Compton in 12th.

Penn men won the Main Line Invitational at Haverford with 24 points. Sahil Dodda led the team clocking in first with a personal-best four-mile time of 19:19.6. Kofi Fordjour placed third at 19:37.6, followed by Shane Murphy in fourth at 19:38.7, Esfan Daya in seventh, and Vinay Raman in ninth.  

Ivy League Heptagonal Championships 
Penn women secured a fourth-place finish at the 2025 Ivy League Cross Country Championships with 105 points, while the men's squad earned seventh place, tallying 167 points. 
 
Leading the Quakers, Anna Werich placed ninth in the women's 6k with a time of 21:33.0 earning All-Ivy Second Team honors. Teammate Gabrielle Jones was close behind in 13th, running 21:47.3, also earning Second Team accolades.
 
Sarah Fischer crossed third for the women's team, taking 21st at 21:55.9. Courtney Kaiser followed in 29th with a time of 22:07.5, and freshman Izzy Rodriguez closed out the scoring in 33rd at 22:16.3.
 
Kofi Fordjour led the men's effort in the 8k, placing 18th with a time of 25:14.9. Nick Carpenter crossed next for the Quakers, scoring 30th in 25:43.6, and Sahil Dodda contributed with a 36th-place finish in 25:50.5.

Rounding out the scoring five, George Keen and Liam Going took 40th and 43rd, respectively.
