PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's cross country teams closed out the Princeton Fall Classic on Friday with a wave of personal- bests and standout performances.
The women's team finished third with 131 points as three Quakers crossed the finish line in the top 25. Penn defeated Yale, Cornell, Columbia, and Dartmouth with two weeks until the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships.
Leading the charge was senior
Lily Murphy, placing fifth overall with a 6k time of 20:07.9.
Anna Weirich finished closely behind with a personal-best time of 20:30.3, placing 18th.
Sarah Fischer notched a personal—best time of 20:41.4 to place 23rd.
Gabrielle Jones and
Quin Stovall crushed their previous personal-best times with Jones scoring 30th at 20:50.3 and Stovall 55th at 21:12.2.
On the men's side,
Sahil Dodda crossed the finish line first for Penn clocking in an 8k time of 24:07.0.
Kofi Fordjour recorded a personal-best time of 24:12.0 (59), followed by
Shane Murphy at a personal-best time of 24:18.8 (67).
Liam Going stopped the clock at 24:28.7, scoring 102.
Nick Carpenter rounded out the team's score with a time of 24:36.1 (112).
