PHILADELPHIA – Taking her talents from a standout collegiate career in the Ivy League to the international ranks in Germany, the University of Pennsylvania's
Stina Almqvist has signed her first professional contract to play for GiroLive Panthers Osnabrück.
The Panthers are a part of the premier women's basketball league in Germany, Damen-Basketball-Bundesliga (DBBL), coached by Sasa Cuic.
Almqvist enjoyed a stellar four-year career at Penn, capped by a highlight-filled senior season in 2024-25. She was named both a first-team All-Ivy and All-Big 5 selection after averaging 17.7 points and 7.6 rebounds in all 28 games.
She was also named to the All-Tournament team during Ivy Madness and earned her way onto the Women's College All-Star Game Watch List and was named a finalist for World Exposure Report's (WER) Mid-Major International Player of the Year.
The native of Kinna, Sweden became the 26th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone, finishing her tenure in University City with 1,110 points and 500 rebounds.
