THE SERIES WITH BROWN
* The Quakers and Bears are meeting for the 97th time in women's basketball, with Penn holding a 57-39 lead in the all-time series.
* Brown won the first meeting this season, taking a 77-65 decision in double overtime in Providence back on January 10. Amazingly, Penn never led in regulation, tying it with just 22 seconds left to force overtime. The teams traded the lead four times in the first extra session, before Brown took over with the first eight points and 12 of the first 14 in the second OT.
*
Mataya Gayle stuffed the stat sheet in that game, finishing with 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Katie Collins collected a double-double (13 points/11 rebounds) and dished out three assists, while
Saniah Caldwell drained five triples on the way to 16 points.
Simone Sawyer added 10 points.
* These teams have split the season series each of the last three seasons, with the home team winning each time. In fact, the home team has been victorious the last eight times these teams have met if you tack on the first meeting this season and the last matchup in 2021-22.
THANK YOU, SENIORS!
Prior to Saturday's game, we will recognize and honor five men and women who have been an instrumental part of our program the last four years on the occasion of their final home game. We will honor seniors
