PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team was recently recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) as a special mention in the organization's annual academic team awards. The Quakers maintained a 3.37 GPA during the spring semester.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the country in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. Teams that qualified for consideration in their respective divisions are listed as special mentions.

Head coach Mike McLaughlin had four players—Ashna Tambe, Brooke Suttle, Gabriella Kelley and Katie Collins—receive College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recognition, which requires a GPA of 3.5 or better. At the conclusion of the season, guard Mataya Gayle was selected as the Quakers' Academic All-Ivy recipient for her performances on the court and in the classroom.

On the hardwood, Penn finished with an overall record of 17-10, a two-win improvement from the 2024-25 season.
