Another Silver For Moehn, Another Record Highlights Third Day at Ivy Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior Anna Moehn picked up her second silver medal of Ivy League Championships in the 200-yard freestyle, while the 400 medley relay team broke the school record as the University of Pennsylvania women's swimming and diving team completed action Friday evening in fifth place with 623 points.

The Quakers have a lot of ground to make up as a team with just one day remaining, but there are still plenty of points and podium finishes to be had heading into Saturday's events.

*A night removed from taking the silver medal and second place in the 500 freestyle, Moehn put in the work once again and nearly captured her first-career Ivy title, finishing as the runner-up in the 200 free with a time of 1:46.86. Jenna Jacobs ended up winning the C-Final at 1:50.23.

*Katya Eruslanova took sixth place overall in the 400 IM with a time of 4:17.02. Erica Maltsev finished the B-Final in third place at 4:18.23 with Meredith Holcomb in eighth (4:20.11). Sydney Bergstrom won the C-Final with a time of 4:19.43 and Anna Boeckman placed third at 4:23.51.

*Kate Handley was the other A-Final qualifier in the 100 breaststroke, taking eighth place with a time of 1:02.01. Izzy Pytel won the B-Final at 1:01.51 with Keara McGowan placing second in the C-Final at 1:03.81.

*Kate Levensten wrapped up a second-place finish in the B-Final of the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.29. Amy Qin clocked a 55.29 to place eighth. Joy Jiang took seventh place in the C-Final with a time of 56.62.

*Penn went 1-2 in the B-Final of the 100 butterfly with Kayla Fu winning it with an NCAA B-Cut time of 52.58. Maggie Hu place second at 54.23 with Jiang in fifth (54.55).

*The Quakers may have just gotten a fifth-place finish out of its 400 medley relay team of Levensten, Pytel, Fu, and Moehn, but their 3:38.79 was good enough to break the school record of 3:39.18 originally set in 2014.

*Sadie Howard was Penn's first finalist of the weekend on the diving board, scoring a 263.90 to finish the B-Final in fifth place, 13th overall.
