PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's swimming and diving team continues the non-conference portion of its schedule on Wednesday evening, welcoming Villanova to Sheerr Pool. Diving begins at 3 p.m., followed by swimming at 5 p.m.
The Quakers are coming off a season-opening victory over Delaware on Saturday by a score of 175-118. The Wildcats are 4-0 to begin the 2025-26 campaign and are coming off a 181-114 win against La Salle on Saturday.

*In Penn's victory over Delaware,
Kayla Fu and diver
Sadie Howard each captured two individual wins, combining for four of the Quakers' 12 event titles to open the season.
*Fu set a new Sheerr Pool record in the 100 butterfly, touching first in 53.59, just ahead of teammate
Maggie Hu (54.98). She later added another victory in the 50 freestyle (23.12), with
Amy Qin (23.42) and
Amber Smith (23.79) finishing second and third to complete the sweep.
*Senior diver
Sadie Howard dominated on the boards, sweeping both the one-meter (270.83) and three-meter (283.65) events to lead Penn's diving contingent.
*The distance squad shined again, led by
Anna Boeckman's win in the 1000 freestyle (10:13.81).
Sydney Bergstrom followed close behind in second at 10:15.76.
*Junior
Katya Eruslanova began her season strong, posting a 1:51.85 to win the 200 freestyle, while
Anna Moehn secured third place in 1:54.56.
*Penn swept the podium in the 100 backstroke as
Kate Levensten (54.55) led the way, followed by
Brianna Cong (55.36) and
Connie Wang (55.57).
*Qin notched another individual win with a 51.35 in the 100 freestyle, just ahead of Wang's 51.65 for second.
*Freshman
Brianna Cong earned the first individual win of her collegiate career, taking the 200 backstroke in 2:00.62.

Meredith Holcomb claimed top honors in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:18.14, and teammate
Abby Druhan added a third-place finish (2:21.04).
*NCAA qualifier
Anna Moehn opened her season with a 4:55.81 victory in the 500 freestyle, while
Caroline Cancelmo placed third in 5:03.64.
*The Quakers kicked off the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay, as the team of Qin, Handley, Hu, and Fu touched first in 1:42.26. Cong, Holcomb, Smith, and Wang took third with a 1:44.16.
Scouting The Wildcats
*Villanova picked up a 181-114 victory over La Salle on Saturday.
*Last season, the Wildcats dropped their matchup to Penn, 167-128, but recorded 24 top-three finishes.
*Against La Salle, Peri Gaguzis (10:14.90) and Riley Hull (10:23.69) opened the meet with a dominant 1-2 showing in the 1000 freestyle. Riley Kudlac paced a Quaker sweep in the 200 free, touching first in 1:50.26 ahead of teammates Marlene Blanke (1:52.08) and Annie Mee (1:53.44). Kudlac later picked up another win in the 50 free (23.68), while Martina Lonati secured the 100 free crown in 51.89.
*Anna Farley took control of the 200 butterfly, winning in 2:00.63, while Emily Herr added to Penn's strong showing with a victory in the 200 individual medley (2:05.18). Blanke rounded out the day with a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle, clocking 5:05.74.
