Bergstrom Voted Third-Team Academic All-America by CSC

PHILADELPHIA – College Sports Communicators (CSC) named University of Pennsylvania senior Sydney Bergstrom to the Academic All-America Third Team for the 2025-26 swimming & diving season.

Bergstrom was one of four Ivy League athletes to earn Academic All-America distinction.

The Swarthmore, Pa. native was named an All-Ivy First Team selection for the first time in her career, following her first-place finish (16:02.63) in the 1650 freestyle at Ivy League Championships. That result punched her ticket to the 2026 NCAA Championships where she swam a 16:04.94 in the same event, placing 12th and earning Second Team All-American status. Bergstrom and teammate Anna Moehn were named just the third and fourth Quakers in program history to receive All-American laurels.

Majoring in Mathematics, Bergstrom has maintained a 3.74 GPA during her time in University City and was selected as Penn's Academic All-Ivy honoree. Her 16:02.63 finish at Ivy League Championships ranks third all-time in the program's record book and her 809.90 points collected throughout the season ranked 17th among Division One mid-majors, sixth in the Ivy League, and first for the Red and Blue.
