PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's cross country teams travel back to Princeton, N.J. on Friday to compete at the Fall Classic. The women's 6k race is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's 8k at 11:15 a.m.
Last Time Out
The women's team delivered a strong performance at the Paul Short Run, placing eighth out of 40 teams competing in the gold race.
Lily Murphy led the Quakers in the 6k run, securing 10th place with a personal-best time of 20:01.0.
Lara Cota (20:51.7) and Gabby Jones (20:51.9) finished together in 55th and 56th, respectively.
Anna Weirich came in close behind in 62nd with a time of 20:56.5, followed by freshman
Izzy Rodriguez, who rounded out the scoring in 99th at 21:17.1.
Kofi Fordjour led the men's team, placing 80th overall in the 8k gold race with a time of 21:19.7.
George Keen, Shane Murphy, Shamus Larnard, and Liam Going demonstrated solid pack running, finishing within 30 seconds of one another. Keen clocked in first at 24:27.0, followed by Murphy at 24:47.1, Larnard at 24:49.1, and Going at 24:53.6.
The Penn men finished 24th out of 40 teams.
