PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's track & field teams hosted the Penn Select at the Jane and David Ott Center for Track and Field on Saturday.
Senior's
Scott Dochat,
Benedikt Sachta, and
Kai Eisenhardt led the Quakers to victory in the field placing first in the men's weight throw, men's pole vault, and women's pole vault, respectively.
Pole Vault
Senior Benedikt Sachta raised the bar in the men's pole vault competition clearing 5.23m (17' 1.75") on his first attempt. Satcha first cleared a then personal-best height of 5.15m (16' 10.75") before taking a go at 5.23m. He finished first in the men's event and ranks first in the league.
Alex Georgiev earned third with a clearance of 4.55m (14' 11").
Kai Eisenhardt led the women's field at a height of 3.95m (12' 11.5").
Evangeline Thomson placed second jumping the bar at 3.80m (12' 5.5").
Throws
Senior
Scott Dochat made his season-debut in the men's weight throw, taking first with a second-round throw of 19.53m (64' 1").
Stella Inman set a personal-best in the women's weight throw at 17.55m (57' 7"), earning second place.
Angeludi Asaah had a strong third round performance in the women's shot put recording a mark of 14.29m (46' 10.75").
Zezo Beshir claimed third in the men's competition with a mark of 15.11m (49' 7").
Distance
The women's 800 race welcomed back Penn alum and 2024 Olympian Nia Akins, who led the race clocking in at 2:03.16.
Quin Stovall finished first among collegiate athletes recording a time of 2:12.42, ranked second in the Ivy League.
Senior
Luke Johnson led the Quakers in the men's 3000m race crossing the finish line second with a time of 8:08.84.
Nick Carpenter finished third stopping the clock at 8:13.40.
Sprints / Relays
The women's 4x400m relay squad of
Milan Ramey,
Fore Abinusawa,
Amelia Kristen, and
Avery Elliott placed second with a time of 3:51.23.
Alex Sadikov,
Jasyn Truitt,
David Davitt, and
Aaron Stillitano finished second in the men's 4x400m relays with a time of 3:19.27. Sadikov took third in the 200m with a personal-best time of 22.26.
Sprinter
Jocelyn Niemiec leads the Ivy League in the women's 400m with a time of 54.35.
