SAN ANTONIO – Penn swimming and diving junior
Matthew Fallon didn't waste any time preparing for his journey towards qualification for the Summer Olympics, turning heads by taking home a victory at the TYR Pro Swim Series at the Northside Swim Center Saturday evening.
Fallon touched first in the 200-meter breaststroke in a time of 2:08.18 to finish just ahead of Leon Marchand (2:08.40), who won the 200-yard edition of the event at NCAA Championships just a couple weeks ago.
It's the fourth-fastest time of Fallon's LCM career and the fourth-fastest time in the world so far for 2024.
The two-time Ivy League champion and two-time first-team All-America is looking forward to U.S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis at the end of June, hoping to qualify for the U.S. National Team in the Paris Olympics in August.
