PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Ivy League announced their First and Second Team All-Ivy honorees today, with sophomore
Watson Nguyen earning two First Team nods while junior
Peter Whittington claimed two Second Team spots.
Nguyen earned his First Team All-Ivy honors after placing first in the 100 & 200 breaststroke at the Ivy League Championships. Nguyen's performance in the 100 breast was particularly notable, as his time of 51.18 not only broke the Princeton DeNunzio Pool record, but also the Penn program record. Nguyen's two wins at the 2026 Ivy League Championships make him the first men's swimmer to win two events at one championship meet since Mark Andrew 2019 (400 IM & 200 breast). Nguyen will represent Penn in his two winning events at the NCAA Championships later this month.
On the other side, junior Whittington earned his spot in the Second Team with silver medal finishes in the 400 IM & 200 breaststroke. Along with the All-Ivy distinctions, Whittington was chosen as Penn's Academic All-Ivy selection, highlighting his work ethic in the pool and in the classroom. Whittington enjoyed a great year for the Quakers, placing in the top five times in the 50, 100, and 200 breast while earning Penn's top time in the 200 and 400 IM.
