PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The NCAA announced the participants for the 2026 swimming championships, with University of Pennsylvania swimmers
Watson Nguyen and
Peter Whittington earning nods for the postseason competition.
Sophomore Nguyen had already claimed his spot with his wins in the 100 & 200 breaststroke at the Ivy League Championships. Nguyen broke pool and program records with his time in the former. Nguyen earned First Team All-Ivy with his wins at the Ivies.
Whittington earned an invite to the meet with his performance in the 200 breaststroke, which he will compete in at the championships. Whittington finished just behind teammate Nguyen, clocking a 1:52.10 to Nguyen's 1:52.03. He earned Second Team All-Ivy for his performance.
This round of NCAA's proves to be significant for the Quakers. For the first time since 2016, Penn will have multiple competitors at the championship event. What has proven to be a historic year for the Quakers swim & dive programs continues to find new reasons to celebrate.
