ATHENS, Ga. – First-team All-America in the most historic way possible. The University of Pennsylvania senior
Anna Kalandadze became the latest Quaker to be an All-American, taking home first-team laurels with an Ivy League and program-record time of 15:47.86 in the 1,650-yard freestyle, good enough for fourth in the nation.
Â
The previous Ivy record was held by Princeton's Alicia Aemisegger (15:50.60), set back on March 21, 2009.
Â
Kalandadze closes her Penn career as a two-time All-American after getting herself a place on the second team in 2023 by finishing 10th.
Â
She had an incredible race, shaving just over six seconds off her previous school-record mark (15:53.88) set back in 2023 at Ivy Championships where she won her first title in the mile with an Ivy League meet record time.
Â
Sophomore
Anna Moehn also competed in the event, placing 33rd with a time of 16:14.74.
