Men’s S&D Knocks Off Harvard, 176-124; Quakers Earn First Win Over Crimson Since 1971

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's swimming and diving team made history on Saturday afternoon at Sheerr Pool, defeating Harvard for the first time since 1971 with a 176-124 victory to conclude Ivy competition in the regular season.

The win snaps a 49-meet losing streak to the Crimson dating back to the 1971-72 campaign. Harvard leads the all-time series, 77-3, since the first meet back in 1932.

Penn took home 11 victories in the meet, out of the 16 events. Three of those went to Matthew Fallon, while Andrew Dai won twice.

*Penn improves to 5-2 in Ivy meets this year following the win. It's the program's best finish to a regular season since 2018-19, when the Quakers went 8-2 overall, 5-2 in the Ancient Eight. That season, Penn finished third at Ivy League Championships.

*Saturday marked the final meet at Sheerr Pool until at least the 2025-26 season. Renovations are set to begin on the facility this summer and are expected to take at least 11 months to complete.

*After a three-win day at Dartmouth last weekend, Fallon continued his dominance in Philadelphia. He won the 100-yard breaststroke (53.59), the 200 breast (1:56.14) and the 200 IM (1:48.21).
