Men's Swimming & Diving Sweeps Past Dartmouth and Yale in Hanover

HANOVER, N.H. – The University of Pennsylvania men's swimming and diving team took care of business on Saturday afternoon, sweeping the competition with wins over host Dartmouth (215-84) and Yale (156-144) to improve to 4-2 against Ivy foes this season.
 
The standout was sophomore Matthew Fallon, winner of three races, while the Quakers totaled eight victories to swim past the Big Green and Bulldogs.
 
Quaker Notemeal
*After a month off following his U.S. Open gold medal in Greensboro, Fallon got back to work and reeled off three victories. He swam a pool-record time of 53.92 in the 100-yard breaststroke, a 4:33.33 in the 500-yard freestyle and a time of 1:50.04 in the 200-yard individual medley.
 
*Kevin Keil showed his prowess on distance, taking home the win in the 1000 free (9:32.86). Truman Armstrong finished third with a time of 9:36.10.
 
*James Curreri emerged victorious in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 50.28.
 
*Andrew Dai timed in at 1:49.83 to earn the win in the 200-yard butterfly. He also claimed a victory in the 100 fly (49.37), just barely beating out teammate Ben Feldman (49.42).
 
*Feldman beat out a trio of Bulldogs to take home the win in the 50 free (20.71).
 
*The Quakers took care of things in the 200 free relay as the quartet of Alex Fu, Liam Campbell, Dai and Feldman swam a pool-record time of 1:21.41 to finish first.
 
*With Campbell, Fallon, Dai and Feldman, the 200 medley relay swam to a second-place finish (1:30.75).
 
*Campbell also swam a 45.95 to take second in the 100 free.
 
*Daniel Gallagher took second place in the 200 back (1:49.44).
 
*Swimming without Fallon in the field, Jason Schreiber stepped up with a second-place finish in the 200 breast (2:01.02).
 
*On the boards, Cody Hopkins tallied a pair of podium finishes in the one-meter (286.55) and three-meter (318.65) dives to take third place.
 
Up Next
Penn closes out the regular season next weekend by visiting West Chester on Friday and hosting Harvard Saturday at Sheerr Pool on Senior Day.
