PHILADELPHIA – On Thursday morning, the University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team signed the newest member of their program, bringing on 12-year-old Reagan Grant through Team IMPACT, officially announced by Douglas N. Brush Head Coach of Women's Soccer, Dr. Krissy Turner.
 
"Team Impact is a phenomenal program," said Turner. "Penn Women's Soccer is beyond thrilled to welcome Reagan, her parents Shari and Vinnie and her four brothers – Derek, James, Liam, and Mason to our family. Reagan will impact us just as much as we hope to impact her. She is tough, resilient, and so courageous. All the qualities we talk about a Penn Women's Soccer player needs to display on a daily basis."
 
Team IMPACT is a Boston-based nonprofit "whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing serious and chronic illnesses through the power of team." It is a two-year therapeutic program that helps the new teammates experience improved and increased resilience, empowerment, and sense of belonging.
 
Reagan was diagnosed with childhood cancer specifically, B cell Leukemia in January 6, 2021.
 
"Now that Reagan is apart of our Penn women's soccer family, she will be apart of our sisterhood in which we embrace each other beyond what it means to just be a student-athlete," said sophomore Janae Stewart. "We have a bond that will never break and makes us stronger as individuals and cohesively together. We are so excited to welcome Reagan to our team!"
 
Reagan officially signed her national letter of intent to join the Quakers Thursday morning alongside her family, Coach Turner and the Penn women's soccer team, who with Reagan, are now more than ready to start preparations for the upcoming 2023 season.
