TOWSON, Md. – The University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team scored with just over three minutes remaining Sunday afternoon, earning a 1-0 victory over Towson at Tiger Field.
The Quakers (3-3-1, 0-0 Ivy League) received the game-winning goal from Magali Capdevila, who scored her first goal of the season in the 87th minute. Lily White provided the assist, while Megan Graves and the Penn defense held the Tigers (3-3-2, 0-0 A-10) scoreless to secure the shutout.
The victory marked the visitors first road win of the season and their first goal away from Rhodes Field. The Quakers also improved to 4-1-2 all-time against Towson.

How It Happened
Penn generated the first quality chance of the afternoon in the ninth minute when Capdevila put a shot on goal that was saved by Towson goalkeeper Keagan Williams.
The Tigers answered with a pair of chances, but Graves made her first save in the 10th minute after a shot from Meron Koro. Towson continued to generate pressure with three corner kicks in the opening 19 minutes, but Penn's defense kept the Tigers off the scoreboard.
The Quakers then created a strong stretch of pressure midway through the half. Avery Chapel fired three shots toward goal in a two-minute span, with Williams making saves on two of them and another attempt being blocked. Penn also earned four corner kicks during the stretch.
Neither team could break through before halftime, as the match stood level at 0-0 after 45 minutes. Both teams recorded six shots in the opening half, and Penn held a 3-2 edge in shots on goal.
The visitors came out of the break looking for a breakthrough. Hailey Adamsky had a shot blocked in the 50th minute followed by Lauren Anderson forcing a save from Williams in the 63rd minute.
The Quakers continued to apply pressure late in the match, earning four corner kicks during a 10-minute stretch. Abbey Cook had a pair of opportunities in the 77th and 81st minutes, including a blocked attempt.
Towson generated a late chance in the 85th minute, but Graves made a save on Kale'a Perry to keep the match scoreless.
Just two minutes later though, Penn finally broke through.
White found Capdevila, who finished in the 87th minute for her first goal of the season to give the Quakers a 1-0 lead.
Penn's defense held firm in the final minutes, as Towson was unable to generate another shot on goal and the Quakers closed out the 1-0 victory.
The win marked Penn's first on the road this season and its third overall, improving the Red and Blue to 3-3-1 on the year.
The Quakers return to action Wednesday, when they face Jefferson at Rhodes Field for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
