PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania track and field teams hosted the annual Big 5 Invitational on Saturday evening at Franklin Field, highlighted by 10 victories, a program record, and six marks in the program top-10s.
Â
The performance of the day belonged to
Nataliia Ilieva in the women's pole vault. She tied for the top mark in the event but took second, however, her clearance of 4.08m (13-04.50) set the program record. The mark overtakes Molly Minnig's 2017 height of 4.07m (13-4.25).
Â
The other five program marks were all set by the women's team. On the track,
Moforehan Abinusawa secured a first-place time of 23.97 in the 200m to shift into seventh in history. In distance events,
Bronwyn Patterson cruised to a top finish in the 1,500m, clocking a time of 4:24.81 for ninth in the record book.
Â
Out at the throws complex,
Kira Lindner earned a third-place finish in the hammer throw, tossing 48.08m (157-09) to land herself 10th in program history.
Â
The last two marks were set on the infield. At the long jump,
Daniella Oyenuga collected a top finish with a distance of 5.99m (19-08), jumping all the way into fourth in program history. At the triple jump, an event that was cut short due to weather, saw
Tumi Onaleye take the win with a jump of 12.45m (40-10.25) to move up to fourth in program history as well.
