PRINCETON, N.J. – The first session of the 2023 Ivy League Women's Swimming & Diving Championship has concluded and the University of Pennsylvania women's swimming & diving team currently sits in seventh place with 94 points.
Two relay events—the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay—kicked off the meet Wednesday evening at DeNunzio Pool, hosted by Princeton where the Tigers went on to sweep a pair of Ivy titles in both events.

*Penn started off the night with a seventh-place finish in the 200-medley relay as
Amber Smith,
Izzy Pytel,
Vanessa Chong and
Abby Wickersham swam a 1:42.14, narrowly edging Dartmouth (1:42.73).
*With the fastest seed time, the Quakers took lane four in the 800 free relay, but took sixth in the event as
Anna Kalandadze,
Margot Kaczorowski,
Anna Moehn and
Bridget O'Leary swam a 7:14.04 to beat out Cornell and Dartmouth.
*Princeton, who took the first two events of the meet, sits in first place with 128 points after the first night of competition. Harvard is second (108), Yale is third (106), Brown is fourth (106) and Columbia is currently in fifth place (102). Cornell (96) is just ahead of Penn (94) in sixth while Dartmouth rounds out the field with 88 points.

Thursday features two jam-packed sessions starting with prelims at 11 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. Events will include the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle, 1-meter dive and 200-yard freestyle relay. Both sessions will be streamed live on ESPN+ (subscription required).
