ITHACA, N.Y. -- The University of Pennsylvania women's swimming and diving team took 11 top three finishes but suffered a team loss in Saturday's tri-meet with Cornell (161-139) and Princeton (202-98).
The Quakers started strong; a team of Hannah Kannan, Rachel Maizes, Monika Burzynska, and Wendy Yang took second place in the 200 Medley Relay, clocking in at 1:46.29.
The Quakers took their second victory on the day as Joanne Fu shaved 0.86 seconds off her season best, taking first place in the 200 fly (2:05.00). Anna Newman finished behind in third place (2:07.95), while Andie Meyers finished just behind in fourth (2:08.19).
Tara Larusso took a couple seconds off her season-best time as she finished third in the 200 free (1:55.07). Wendy Yang also improved on her season best with a third-place finish in the 50 free (24.13).
Other notable finishes for the Quakers include second-place finishes by Serena Xue in the 200 back (2:22.52) and Buroker in the 500 free (5:06.47), and a third-place finish by Burzynska in the 100 fly (56.73).
Penn returns to action as the Quakers travel to Knoxville for the Tennessee Invitational on November 29th.
