PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Ivy League released its weekly awards this week, with sophomore
Gigi Ganje landing the Player of the Week honor.
Ganje had a terrific weekend at the Catamount Classic. The sophomore went 9-for-18 (.500 BA) with nine hits, three doubles, four home runs, three walks, and three stolen bases for the Quakers.
Her approach at the plate amounted to a staggering 1.333 slugging percentage on the weekend, with her year-to-date slash line being .451/.500/1.068 and a 1.598 OPS. On a national level, Ganje ranks fourth in home runs per game (0.6) and tenth in slugging percentage (1.068).
Ganje leads the Quakers in every major offensive category and will continue to be the lineup leader as the Quakers move into an extended month of home games, starting with North Dakota on March 11.
