Quaker Notemeal
* Sophomore
Gigi Ganje is on a historic pace with the long ball. She has nine home runs through 14 games, putting her well on pace to break the single season record.
* Senior
Dani Freer had a great day against Robert Morris, going 2-for-3.
Ohio 7, Penn 5
A close game the whole way through, Penn played a far more cohesive game then Friday's meet against Ohio. The Quakers scored a run in each of the first four innings, courtesy of senior
Delaney Smith delivering an RBI single and a home run.
Freshman
Caroline Putnam also provided a RBI in the second inning when she scored
Jade Montgomery, her second RBI of the season.
The Bobcats would not go quietly, however. Despite Penn scoring four runs in as many innings, the Bobcats would score five in the same span. The Bobcats were able to expand their lead ever so slowly to eventually create the two-run gap that signified the final.
Robert Morris 9, Penn 7
Penn opened, once again, by getting on the scoresheet early. Sophomore
Gigi Ganje opened with yet another leadoff home run to give the Quakers an early 1-1 tie.
The Colonials were prepared to answer and did so with four runs in the third via a sacrifice fly, a steal for a run, and an error by Penn.
Entering the bottom of the 6th down 6-3, Penn rallied, capped off by sophomore Ganje's second homer of the day to make it 6-6.
The game would go to extras, where RMU would strike with three runs in their lone half inning. Penn responded with a run of their own, but fell short of the comeback.
