PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania softball team is back in action this weekend, hosting Ivy rival Cornell for a three-game slate. The weekend will also feature a recognition of the 1981 Ivy League Championship team as well as our Senior Day recognition Sunday afternoon

* The Quakers enter this series against the Big Red with an all-time record of 45-52.
* Last year's series saw Cornell take the series 2-1, with Penn stealing the series closer, 5-2.
* Penn's last series win against Cornell came in 2024, with the Red and Blue took down Cornell two games to three, 3-2, 7-3.

Jade Montgomery will look to keep it going in the batter's box this weekend. To date, Montgomery has a .313 batting average with seven doubles, four home runs, and an OPS of 1.006.

Gigi Ganje has been slick on the base paths this year, accruing nine stolen bases so far on the year. She leads the Ivy League with those nine.

Delaney Smith is second in the Ivy League in batting average, hitting .478 on 67 at-bats.
Scouting the Big Red
* The Big Green enter this contest with a record of 9-11. They have wins over Chattanooga, UIC, Morgan State, Merrimack, Yale, and Bucknell.
* In their last game, Cornell took down Bucknell, 10-2, in five innings.
* Lauren Holt leads the way for the Big Red at the dish. She leads the Ivy League in batting average (.507), slugging percentage (1.017), and OPS (1.620).
* On the mound, Madalyn Covelli and Mila Fiordalisi are producing punch outs a neatly identical rate, with 31 and 32 between the two.
