PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania men's swimming and diving team opened competition at the Ivy League Championships Wednesday. The opening day of the event saw the running of the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay, with the Quakers placing sixth and seventh in the events, respectively.
Despite placing seventh in the 800 free relay, Penn's time of 6:22.85 represents a program best, just edging out the previous time of 6.22.90. The team of
Eddie Jin,
James Curreri,
Max Malakhovets, and
Can John Yeniay were the ones capable of bringing a new benchmark to the 800 free. The 200 medley team of
Eddie Jin,
Watson Nguyen,
Liam Campbell and
Xavier Hill were able to clock a time of 1:26.52.
The Quakers will be right back in action tomorrow when the individual events kick off.
