Collins Sweeps Ivy League, Big 5 Player of the Week Honors

PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League and Philadelphia Big 5 have announced their weekly awards in women's basketball, and University of Pennsylvania sophomore forward Katie Collins has been named player of the week by both organizations.

Collins earned MVP honors at the FDU Christmas Classic as the Quakers defeated UMES and Binghamton to capture the tournament title. Across the two games, she totaled 39 points, 18 rebounds and nine blocked shots, highlighted by a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds in the win over UMES. Collins followed that up with 21 points, seven rebounds and four blocks versus Binghamton. She continued her strong play in Penn's Ivy League opener against Princeton on Saturday at The Palestra, finishing with 15 points and six rebounds. For the week, Collins averaged 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds.

Penn (10-4, 0-1) continues conference play at Brown on Saturday. The game tips off at 2 p.m. and will air on the ESPN+.
