PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) released their weekly awards Wednesday, with University of Pennsylvania gymnast Ananya Patanakul winning Co-Newcomer of the Week.

A freshman, Patanakul wins the award in just her second meet as a Quaker. Patanakul placed second at the Lindsey Ferris Invitational on the vault with a 9.775. This score helped the Quakers earn first on the vault with a 48.725, contributing to their first-place 194.075 final team total.

The Quakers have opened the year with consecutive first-place finishes and will look to keep it going this Friday, when they travel to temple to take on the host Owls, Texas Woman's, and George Washington.
