The University of Pennsylvania men's swimming and diving team faces off against La Salle this Thursday before both teams hit the road to challenge West Chester on Friday.

Last Saturday, both the men's and women's teams beat out Boston College but couldn't take down Harvard in the tri-meet. The men's record is now 4-5, with the women sitting at 9-2.

Quaker Notemeal (M)
 * Sophomore
Watson Nguyen took first place in the 100 breast with a 53.09. He was also in Penn's A team for the 200 medley relay, alongside
Eddie Jin,
Alex Fu, and
Liam Campbell, where the team placed third with a 1:29.66.

Peter Whittington was another first-place finisher for Penn, this time in the 200 breast with a 1:56.30. He also made third place in the 400 IM with a 3:55.51.

Eddie Jin claimed second place in the 100 back and 100 free with respective times of 48.53 and 44.54.
James Curreri also had a second-place finish for Penn in the 200 back with a 1:47.49.

Can John Yeniay showed some promising results with a third-place finish in the 200 free (1:38.05) and a fourth-place finish in the 500 free (4:35.2).

Kayla Fu was Penn's top swimmer against Harvard and Boston College, claiming two first-place finishes in the 100 free (50.70) and 200 free (1:49.15).

Anna Moehn was also a strong swimmer for Penn, grabbing second in the 1000 free with a time of 10:10.71. Moehn also placed third in the 500 free with a 4:58.86.

Kate Levensten claimed second place in the 100 back (54.44) and third in the 200 back, clocking a 1:59.72.

* Other second place finishes for Penn include the 100 back by
Kate Handley, 100 breast by
Amy Qin, and 200 back by
Brianna Cong.

* In the relays, Penn had two second-place teams with a 1:43.90 in the 200 medley relay and a 3:26.19 in the 400 free relay.

* On the diving board, Penn's
Sadie Howard placed second place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 257.10 and third place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 284.15.
Rachel Yang placed just behind in the 1-meter dive with a score of 256.30.

Scouting the Explorers (M)
 * La Salle's Carter Perkins won both the 50 and 100 free with respective times of 20.52 and 44.84. He was also in the 400 free relay alongside Felix Jedbratt, Noah Fredriksson, and Taric Gusic where the team earned first place with a 3:03.06.

* Felix Jedbartt also claimed two first-place finishes for the Explorers, this time in the 100 and 200 fly with times of 48.22 and 1:49.62.

* A third, first-place finisher for La Salle is freshman Blaise Hoffmann, who clocked a 1:50.38 in the 200 back.

* On the diving board, La Salle had a strong showing, claiming three, top-three finishes. Calvin LeBlanc placed first in the 3-meter dive, while Carter Randall placed second and Liam Cahill claimed third. LeBlanc and Randall also earned second and third in the 1-meter dive.

Scouting the Golden Rams (M)

* The men's team enters with a 3-2 record on the season. On Saturday, the Golden Rams came in  first among four in the Pidgeon Memorial Invitational.

* West Chester's Bartosz Brzozowski took first place in the 100 back with a 51.79. He also led the 400 medley relay team to first place alongside Christian Henry, Chadd Corson, and Till Schroeder. Their final time was 3:29.88.

* Nathan Noel has been strong for the Golden Rams, finishing first in the 200 fly in 1:57.70. He also came in third in the 200 IM with a 1:58.54.

* Paul Demsey won the 500 free with a time of 4:40.89. Second through fifth place were all West Chester as well. Second place went to Danny Dunigan, third to Marti Rosell Diez, fourth to Szymon Kapala, and fifth to Jacob C Texter.

Scouting the Golden Rams (W)
 * The women enter with a matching 3-2 record for the season. In their latest meet last Saturday, the Golden Rams came in first among six in the Pidgeon Memorial Invitational.

* West Chester's Michalina Jasinska swam the 100 back in 58.77, good for first place. She also lead 400 free relay and 400 medley relay teams, with both claiming first place.

* Isabella Kil took first place for West Chester in the 200 IM (2:09.95) and second place in the 100 breast (1:06.79). She was also on the 400 medley relay and 400 free relay teams, both of which took first place.

* The team consisting of Michalina Jasinska, Isabella Kil, Greta Saville, and Lava Piuva won the 400 medley relay with a final time of 3:59.71. The same teammates also took first in the 400 free relay, clocking a final time of 3:39.11.
