HAVERFORD, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's cross country teams turned in strong performances on Friday at the Main Line Invitational with
Sahil Dodda and
Lily Murphy claiming the individual titles.
The meet was highlighted by the men's team capturing first with 24 points.
Penn men placed eight runners inside the top 15, with just 40 seconds separating the group.
Sahil Dodda led the race in the men's four mile race clocking in first with a time of 19:19.6.
Kofi Fordjour following behind in third (19:37.6) and
Shane Murphy in fourth (19:38.7).
Esfan Daya scored seventh with a time of 19:45.9 and
Vinay Raman ninth at 19:55.3.
Chris Larnard (19:55.5),
Liam Going (19:58.7), and Joey Ruiz (19:59.5) added depth to the pack clocking in under 20-minutes.
The women's team finished second scoring 41 points, Villanova placed first with 38 points.
Lily Murphy opened her season with a dominant individual victory in the women's 5k crossing the finish line at 16:48.6.
Kyra Compton crossed third with a time of 17:34.4, followed by
Courtney Kaiser in seventh (18:01.2) and
Anna Weirich in 13
th (18:35.8). Keira Duffy completed the team score placing 17
th with a time of 18:47.6.
Up Next
