Penn Park | Philadelphia, Pa.
All three games will have live stats provided.
Quaker Notemeal
Penn heads into its fourth weekend of Ivy play with a 0-9 record after dropping their three-game series at home to Brown last weekend. The Quakers' bats came alive on Wednesday in an eight-inning 12-12 tie against Villanova. Wednesday's heavy hitter was freshman Alexis Youngren, hitting a grand slam for her first collegiate home run to give the Quakers the lead in the fifth inning.
Despite some unfavorable results, Penn has begun to find power at the plate, hitting at least one home run in each of their last five games. Jade Montgomery leads the Quakers with 6 home runs and 16 RBIs so far this year.
Previewing the Crimson
Harvard enters the weekend 13-8 overall and 2-4 in conference play. In their most recent series against Columbia, the Crimson dropped the first game but won the following two. In game three, Harvard defeated the Lions 12-0, invoking the run-rule after five innings of play. Senior Maya Douglas tallied two homers in the twelve-run rout, with sophomore Sophie Sun going 3 for 4 at the plate with a home run and 4 RBIs in the game.
Since 2022, Harvard has dominated this matchup, winning all nine games played in that time. Penn is looking for its first win over Harvard since March of 2019, when they won two of the three games of their series at Penn Park.
