PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League announced its All-Ivy teams and major award winners for the 2024-25 men's swimming and diving season on Tuesday afternoon. Senior
Matt Fallon and sophomore
Peter Whittington both represented Penn on the list, announced by the conference office.
Named a first-team All-Ivy selection for the third time in the 200 breast and a second-team All-Ivy honoree in the 100 breast, Fallon cemented his legacy by winning his third career Ivy title in the 200 breaststroke, swimming an Ivy meet record time of 1:48.55 which is also the fastest time among NCAA Division I swimmers this season. He's the sixth swimmer in program history to win three or more Ivy championships in a career. Fallon also took home Academic All-Ivy laurels for his accomplishments in the classroom.
Whittington was named second-team All-Ivy after recording a silver-medal finish in the 400 IM. He clocked a 3:43.25 in the event, nearly capturing the title. It's the first time he reached the podium in his career.
Fallon will have an opportunity to avenge his runner-up finish in the 200 breast at the 2024 NCAA Championships when he takes the pool in Federal Way, Wash. March 26-29. He's looking to become the first men's NCAA champion at Penn since Chris Swanson in 2016.
