PHILADELPHIA – The NCAA has announced the regional and individual qualifiers for the 2025 National Collegiate Women's Gymnastics Championship. Freshman
Mimi Fletcher and junior
Skyelar Kerico will represent the University of Pennsylvania.
Kerico was selected as one of three gymnasts to compete in the all-around at the regional hosted by Penn State in University Park, Pa. Fletcher is one of six gymnasts on the balance beam and will also compete in Happy Valley. The regional will take place from April 2-6.
Kerico built off her stellar 2024 campaign with an even better 2025. The junior repeated as Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Gymnast of the Year and also won GEC Co-Performance of the Year for her record-breaking 9.925 on vault against West Virginia (3/14). She was consensus First-Team All-GEC (vault, bars, beam, floor and all-around), slotting in No. 1 in the conference on vault (9.850), bars (9.890) and all-around (39.155).
She saved her best efforts for the biggest event. At the 2025 GEC Championships, she became the first Penn gymnast since 2001 to win three individual conference titles in one season (vault, bars and all-around). Kerico notched an all-around score of 39.425 to break her own program and conference record. She now holds the top six all-around scores in school history.
Fletcher shined as a beam specialist in her first season at University City. The Mountain View, Calif. native topped the GEC and ranked fifth in the Northeast Region on beam with an NQS of 9.860. At the Temple Tri-Meet on February 8, she recorded the second-best beam score in program history at 9.925. Fletcher was recognized with first-team All-GEC and All-Ivy honors.
Fletcher becomes the third Penn freshman all-time to qualify for NCAA Regionals, along with Mary Pedersen in 1991 and Marissa Rosen in 2007. Kerico is the first Quaker to compete in all-around at NCAA's since Head Coach
Kirsten Becker (Strausbaugh) in 2013.
