PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team was picked first in the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Preseason Poll, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

With 63 points and seven first-place votes, Penn was selected ahead of Yale (55, 1). Ivy rivals Brown and Cornell tied for third with 41 points, while Bridgeport (34), William & Mary (24), West Chester (22), and South Connecticut (8) rounded out the poll.
The Quakers completed the "treble" for the second time last season, claiming the Ivy Classic, GEC regular season title, and GEC championship. Last season also marked the fourth consecutive GEC title.
Two-time GEC Gymnast of the Year
Skyelar Kerico returns for her final season in University City. Kerico comes off another impressive campaign, highlighted by an NCAA Regionals Qualifying bid and career highs in every category. She will aim to secure her third straight GEC honor this year.
In addition to Kerico, Penn returns six First Team All-GEC honorees in
Jordan Barrow,
Manama Fofana,
Marissa Lassiter,
Sophia Paris,
Mimi Fletcher, and
Alisha Werlen. Lassiter and Werlen were named 2026 team captains in addition to Kerico and will look to lead Penn towards another championship this upcoming season.
The Quakers open the season January 11, when they travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on Cornell.
