Gymnastics Eyes Fifth GEC Championship in Ithaca, N.Y. Saturday

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team closes out the 2026 season in Ithaca, New York this Saturday, taking on Yale, Brown, and Cornell in session two of the GEC Championships.

Making Their Mark
* The Quakers will enter the GEC Championships with 12  freshly branded First & Second Team All-GEC members, highlighted by three-event First Teamers Jordan Barrow and Manama Fofana.

Treble-makers
* The Quakers are closing in on their third straight "treble" of the Ivy Classic title, GEC regular season title, and GEC Championship, with this weekend being the final piece to the puzzle.
 
Quaker Notemeal
* Freshman Ruth Whaley, Ananya Patanakul, and Ava Hooten all made their mark for Penn in their first collegiate year, earning four All-GEC team honors between the three.

* With last weeks win over UC Davis at the California Quad, head coach Kirsten Becker crossed the 80 career win mark.
 
Road to Nationals Rankings
* The Quakers sit at #38 in the Road to Nationals rankings. Of the GEC opponents Penn will meet this weekend, Yale is next up at #48, Brown at #51, and Cornell at #60.

* Penn ranks third in the Northeast Regional rankings on the balance beam with an average score of 48.843.
 
* Penn claims all three of the top spots in the bars rankings in the GEC, with Luci Toczydlowski, Jordan Barrow, and Sophia Paris running the gamut.
 
Scouting the Bulldogs
* The Bulldogs enter Saturday's meet with a record of 11-10. They have wins over New Hampshire, Southern Connecticut State, Bridgeport, Cornell, Brown among others.
 
* In their last meet, the Bulldogs took down Bridgeport and SCSU with a total score of 194.300.
 
Scouting the Bears
* The Bears enter Saturday's meet with a record of 13-7-1. They have wins over Rhode Island College, SCSU, Yale, Temple, SUNY Cortland among others.
* In their latest meet, The Bears fell to Michigan State, 197.500-194.750 in East Lansging.
 
Scouting the Big Red
* The Big Red enter Saturday's meet with a record of 8-17, with wins over Bridgeport, Brockport, Cortland, Ithaca, Utica, SCSU, William & Mary, and Brown.
* In their last meet, Cornell fell to West Chester 192.225-190.500.
