PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The third day of Ivy League Championships saw the University of Pennsylvania men's swimming and diving team win three medals and snap a school record in a relay event as Penn sits seventh with 463.5 points heading into the final day of competition at Brown University's Katharine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
Silver medals for
Matt Fallon (100 breaststroke) and
Peter Whittington (400 IM), and a bronze for
Watson Nguyen (100 breast) were just the start as the 400 medley relay broke a school mark to close out the evening.

*Whittington nearly became an Ivy champion in the 400 IM, as Brown's Marton Nagy barely edged him out when the former clocked a time of 3:43.25 to win the silver medal.
Andy Zhou swam a 4:02.90 to take seventh in the C-Final.
*Fallon won himself another medal at Ivies, taking silver in the 100 breast after swimming a 51.56 to finish just behind Brown's Jack Kelly (50.60). Both Fallon and Kelly traded Ivy records throughout the day, as Fallon's 51.46 set the mark during prelims, but Kelly's title-clinching swim took the cake. Nguyen earned a bronze medal in his very-first Ivy meet, swimming a 51.61.
Colin Zhang tied for sixth in the C-Final with a time of 54.74.

James Curreri placed sixth overall in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:01.14.
Max Malakhovets took 17th at 9:16.78 with
Cooper Nicholson in 21st (9:19.97).

Alex Fu swam a 47.65 to place fifth in the B-Final of the 100 butterfly.
Jeffrey Hou took fifth in the C-Final with a time of 48.19, while
Benji Ham swam a 49.77 to take seventh.
*In the 200 free,
Daniel Gallagher swam a 1:36.75 to take sixth place in the B-Final, while
Can John Yeniay placed fifth at 1:38.61 and
Ryan McGuirk took sixth (1:39.01).
*The quartet of Curreri, Fallon, Fu, and
Liam Campbell finished sixth place with a time of 3:08.82 in the 400 medley relay, a new school record. The mark was previously set back in 2022 (3:09.40) by Jack Hamilton, Fallon,
Andrew Dai and
Ben Feldman.

Penn closes Ivy Championships on Saturday with seven events including the 1,650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, three-meter dive, and 400 free relay. Prelims begin at 11 a.m. followed by finals at 6 p.m. Both sessions will be streamed live on ESPN+.
