PHILADELPHIA- The University of Pennsylvania softball team rounds out the 2024 campaign with a three-game set at Brown. The series will open with a single game on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and will conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m.
The Quakers are 38-53 all-time against the Bears, are 7-3 in their last ten matchups, including taking two-out-of-three last season at Penn Park.

Previewing Penn
Penn went 1-3 last week, downing Big East regular season champion Villanova on Wednesday, 4-1, before Dartmouth came to Penn Park on Saturday and Sunday and swept the Quakers. Against the Wildcats, Penn scored three runs in the third inning when
Dana Anderson singled to bring in
Chloe Lesko,
Sammy Fenton collected an RBI ground out, and
Katie Reagan added a single to bring home
Jade Montgomery. In the bottom of the sixth,
Blake Landow tripled to right center and scored when
Dani Freer reached safely on a bunt. Throughout the weekend, Fenton was 5-for-8 (.625) and added an RBI. The Red and Blue turned four double plays throughout the three-game set with the Big Green, including three in the series finale.
At the Plate
Senior and Philadelphia native, Reagan leads the team in batting average (.319), RBI (18) and OPS (.830). Fenton posts a team-high in at-bats (121), hits (37) and total bases (44). Brown leads the team in runs (20), and stolen bases (15). Anderson holds a team-best in doubles (7) and slugging percentage (.442). Lesko holds a team-high with three home runs, has drawn a team-high 26 walks and a team-best .440 on-base percentage.
As a team the red and blue are batting .263, have compiled 261 hits, have scored 141 runs and have driven in 120. As a collective, the Quakers are slugging .343 and have an on-base percentage of .358, with 41 stolen bases.

In 22 appearances,
Rachel Riley has made 18 starts and leads the staff with 87.1 innings pitched. The junior holds a 5.53 ERA a 1.81 WHIP and has struck out 20. Bean has made 14 starts in 20 appearances and has tossed 63.1 innings. The junior leads the team in WHIP (1.61), complete games (3) and strikeouts (36) and has a 4.86 ERA. As a pitching staff, the Quakers hold a 5.21 ERA, have thrown 244.2 innings and have struck out 86 batters.
By the Numbers
Penn is ranked fourth in the country in double plays with 23, averaging .62 per game. Lesko sits at #35 in Division I with 26 walks and .70 per game. The Quakers sit at second in the Ivy with 127 walks and third in stolen bases.
Previewing Brown
After taking two-of-three against Princeton last weekend, the Bears fell to Providence, 8-0 (6 innings) in a midweek matchup. This past week, pitcher Alexis Guevara was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week after picking up two victories against the Tigers. The junior tossed 15 innings, had eight strikeouts, with a 2.33 ERA.
Jasmine Hsiao leads Brown in batting average (.359), OPS (.957), runs (25), hits (42), doubles (12), slugging percentage (.521) and stolen bases (15). Laurel Moody has a team-high three home runs, while Lily Berlinger has a team-best .441 on-base percentage. As a unit, the Bears are hitting .265 with 259 hits, 146 runs scored, seven home runs and 132 RBI.
Guevara leads the pitching staff with a 2.59 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and a 10-11 record. The junior has tossed 16 complete games and 129.2 innings with 89 strikeouts. As a staff, the Bears hold a 3.30 ERA 252.1 innings pitched with 172 strikeouts.
