PHILADELPHIA- The University of Pennsylvania softball team is back at home for a matchup against Philadelphia foe Drexel on Wednesday afternoon.
The Quakers are 19-48 all-time against the Dragons but have taken the last two meetings. Last season, the Red and Blue took down Drexel in extras, when
Katie Reagan scored on a ground ball to second in the top of the eighth, as Penn held on for the 6-5 win.

Previewing Penn
The Quakers were swept over the weekend in a three-game series against Yale. On Saturday Penn fell 9-6 and 4-3 and dropped the series finale, 6-3. On Saturday in game one, the Red and Blue opened the game with a 1-0 lead when
Dana Anderson doubled in the right center gap to bring home
Sammy Fenton. Yale then put up seven runs in the next three innings to take a 7-1 lead. In the bottom of the fourth,
Megan Huang dropped a single into shallow left field, scoring a pair of speedy runners to cut the lead, 7-3. The Bulldogs added a pair in the top of the seventh to extend the lead, 9-3. Despite a three-run bottom of the seventh, the Quakers fell short, 9-6. In game two, Yale led 3-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth. Penn then tied the game 3-3 with the help of a Reagan RBI double, which was followed by a two-RBI single from
Dakota Farmer. In the top of the fifth, the Bulldogs plated a run with an RBI single to take a 4-3 lead, which held throughout the remainder of the game. In Sunday's series finale, Penn tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the second, when Juia Mortimer sent one over the center field wall for her first home run of the season. The Bulldogs scored in the fourth and sixth innings to hold a 6-1 advantage entering the bottom of the seventh.
Delaney Smith singled down the right field line to score two, but the comeback attempt fell short, as the Quakers dropped the game, 6-3.
At the Plate
Senior,
Brianna Brown leads the team in batting average (.360), hits (32) and stolen bases (13). Reagan heads the lineup with 16 RBI and is second on the team in doubles and slugging-percentage. Fenton has a team-high 18 runs scored and 97 at-bats. Reagan has added 27 knocks and Fenton is right behind with 25. Anderson and
Chloe Lesko each have a pair of home runs to lead the team, and Anderson is slugging a team-high .473.
As a team the red and blue are batting .283, have compiled 228 hits, have scored 120 runs and have driven in 101. As a collective, the Quakers are slugging .362 and have an on-base percentage of .377, with 38 stolen bases.
Penn sits at third in the Ivy League in batting average and leads the conference with 107 walks. The Quakers are third in the conference in hits, second in on-base percentage and fielding percentage and third in the Ivy in stolen bases.

Rachel Riley has made 15 starts and leads the staff with 75.0 innings pitched. The junior holds a 5.23 ERA a 1.72 WHIP and has struck out 17.

Previewing Drexel
The Dragons lost two-of-three against Hampton over the weekend. The Dragons took game one 6-2 and fell in games two and three 7-6 and 7-6.
Grace Abbonizio leads the Dragons in batting average (.396), hits (36), slugging percentage (.505) and on-base percentage (.450). Kalea Calugay is first in RBI (23) and third in hits and runs scored. Jackie Masone holds a team-best five home runs and a team-high 1.020 OPS. As a team, Drexel is batting .255 with 226 hits, 127 runs scored and have driven in 111.
In the circle, Lindsay Nelson leads the staff in innings pitched (101.1), strikeouts (90), complete games (10), wins (7), starts (16) and ERA (3.38). Allison Hoppe has made 11 starts in 20 appearances, tossing 68.1 innings, 38 strikeouts and has a 4.20 ERA. As a staff, the Dragons have a 3.97 ERA with 159 strikeouts in 215 innings.
