PHILADELPHIA- After opening Ivy League play last weekend with a 2-1 series win over Cornell, the University of Pennsylvania softball team will take on Princeton this weekend in New Jersey.
The Quakers and Tigers will open the series on Saturday with a doubleheader scheduled for 12:30 and 3:00 p.m. and will conclude the series with a 12:30 p.m. first pitch on Sunday.

Previewing Penn
The Quakers are coming off a 2-3 performance last week, dropping a pair of games to Delaware last Wednesday, and taking the series, 2-1 over Cornell. On Friday, the Red and Blue took game one 3-2 and fell in game two 7-4 (8). On the Sunday series finale, Penn defeated the Big Red 7-3.
The Red and Blue were scheduled to play Lehigh in a Wednesday matchup at Penn Park, but was canceled due to inclement weather.Â

Payton Bean picked up wins throughout the weekend in the circle. In game one, Riley tossed 6.1 innings, gave up six hits and two earned runs. In Sunday's game Bean threw seven innings, gave up five hits, three earned runs and tossed her second complete game of the season.
Penn is 35-78 all-time against Princeton and dropped the series 2-1 last year at Penn Park. On the road the Red and Blue are 17-42 against the Tigers and are 3-7 in the last ten matchups.
At the Plate

Katie Reagan leads the team in batting average, hitting .358, hits (19), RBIs (13), total bases (26) and is tied for first in triples (2). FreshmanÂ

Delaney Smith, senior Anderson and Reagan each have a team-high three doubles. Reagan also leads the team in slugging percentage (.491) While Lesko leads the team in on-base percentage (.426).Â

Brianna Brown have 16. Brown leads the team with ten stolen bases, as freshmanÂ

As a team the red and blue are batting .280, have compiled 148 hits, have scored 87 runs and have driven in 71. As a team, the Quakers are slugging .369 and have an on-base percentage of .364, with 32 stolen bases collectively.
In the Circle
Riley has made ten appearances and has started eight games, while Bean has made eight starts in nine appearances. Riley has tossed 45.1 innings and has struck out 12 with a 4.48 ERA. Bean has thrown 40.2 innings, leads the staff in strikeouts (25) and 3.79 ERA. In addition, Bean threw her first career complete-game shutout against Coppin State in game two on March 8. As a pitching staff, the Quakers have a 4.70 ERA, a 1.67 WHIP, have thrown five complete games and have struck out 55 batters.
Previewing Princeton
The Tigers are 12-9, 2-0 at home and have won their last two games. Princeton took a pair of games from Rider on Tuesday afternoon, picking up a 6-3 win in game one and a 7-0 victory in game two. Sonia Zhang pieced together three hits and an RBI throughout the doubleheader as Lauren Sablone had three base knocks and drove in two in game one. Allison Ha added three hits and three RBIS between the twin bill. Â
Zhang leads the team in batting average (.400), OPS (1.112), runs (17), triples (3), total bases (35), slugging percentage (.636), on-base percentage (.476) and stolen bases (8). Sablone is the team-leader in total bases (65), hits (23) and RBIs (16). As a team the Tigers are batting .268, have 136 hits, 78 RBIs, 89 runs and have hit seven homeruns.
In the circle, Cassidy Shaw has made 12 starts in 13 appearances. Shaw has a 4.10 ERA and a 6-5 record. The freshman leads the staff with 38 strikeouts, and 54.2 innings pitched. Brielle Wright has been the other go-to arm, with 14 appearances all out of the bullpen. The sophomore has a 1-1 record, 23. 1 innings pitched, has struck out 21, has five saves and has a .94 WHIP.
