STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Dylan Throop and
Luke Johnson have advanced to the 2025 NCAA DI Cross Country Championships finishing in the top 10 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday.
Throop crossed the finish line third in the men's 10k with a time of 29:34.6, followed by Johnson crossing sixth with a time of 29:41.3. Both men moved up two spots in the final 1200-meters to secure their place at the championships. Individually, the first four finishers who do not belong to an automatic qualifier or an at-large team automatically advance to the championships.
Nick Carpenter finished third for the Quakers crossing 54
th overall with a time of 31:13.2.
George Keen (31:22.8) and
Shane Murphy (31:33.0) rounded out the team score of 190 points finishing seventh in the region of 27 teams.
Penn women scored in the top 10 of 30 teams in the region, finishing seventh in the Mid-Atlantic. Freshman Olivia William paced the women's team finishing 36
th with a 6k time of 21:00.0.
Nora Wollen clocked in second for Penn stopping the clock at 21:07.3 (43
rd).
Katie Pou,
Miranda Schriver, and
L'Mio Edwards ran closely together finishing within five seconds of one another. Pou finished with a time of 21:22.2, followed by Schriver recording a time of 21:25.9 and Edwards at 21:26.6.
UP NEXT
Throop and Johnson will travel to Madison, Wis. on November 23 to compete at the NCAA DI Cross Country Championships.
