Quakers Ready for NCAA Regionals at Penn State

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's cross country teams travel to State College, Pa. on Friday to compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, hosted by Penn State.

2024 Regular Season Highlights
Senior Dylan Throop placed fifth at the Princeton Fall Classic on Oct. 18 clocking in a personal-best 8k time of 22:50.9. Throop crossed first among Ivy athletes, followed by Luke Johnson finishing third among Ivy athletes with a personal-best time of 23:07.1. 

Throop was named Ivy Men's Athlete of the Week after placing fourth at the Paul Short Run on Oct. 5 stopping the clock at 23:31.7. Johnson was first to earn the weekly award for Penn placing ninth at the Spiked Shoe Invitational at 25:07.7 (5.2M) on Sept. 13. 

Freshman L'Mio Edwards continues to improve on the season recording a personal-best 6k time of 20:57.6 at Princeton. Edwards made her collegiate debut placing fourth at Jersey Jam 4k with a time of 14:12.3. 

Ivy League Heptagonal Championships 
Dylan Throop paced Penn, finishing second at the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championship running the fastest time in program history at the Heptagonal Championships. 

Throop safely secured his second All-Ivy First Team cross country honors recording a personal-best 8k time of 22:46.4. Senior Luke Johnson clocked in second for the Quakers finishing 15th with a time of 23:25.9. Penn men finished fourth scoring 101 points. 

Freshman Olivia Williams led the women's team placing 18th with a personal-best 6k time of 20:51.6, second among freshmen in the Ivy.
