PRINCETON, N.J. – Will Shaughnessy and
Lara Cota of the Penn men's and women's cross country teams have been named the Ivy League Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Will Shaughnessy led the men's race at the Haverford Invitational crossing the finish line first in the 4M with a time 20:08.4.
Lara Cota scored first in the women's 6k stopping the clock at a personal-best time of 17:52.5, second overall. The women's team claimed their first victory of the season scoring 28 points.
The men's and women's cross country team travel to Princeton, N.J. for the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2. The women's 6k starts at 11:00 a.m., followed by the men's 8k at noon.
Penn ends the regular season having claimed five weekly awards throughout the 2024 cross country season, leading the Ivy League.
