The Series with Dartmouth
The Big Green comes to The Palestra having beaten the Quakers five times in a row, sweeping the season series each of the last two years and winning the second of two meetings in 2021. Prior to that, the Quakers had won four in a row and a staggering 26 of the last 28.

The Series with Harvard
The Crimson have swept the season series each of the last two years, including 3-0 sweeps in both of last year's meetings. Prior to that, these teams split the season series in 2019 and 2021 with the road team winning both times in 2021 and the home team winning each time in 2019.

Quaker Notemeal
*Penn is in its fourth season under head coach Meredith Schamun.

*At 8-5 overall, Penn has already doubled its win total for all of last season (4). In addition, the Quakers have already matched their win total in Ivy League play from last year.

*Penn players have earned the Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor three times already this season; Adell Murray was the Ivy League Rookie of the Week in Week 1 and setter Emery Moore was the recipient on consecutive weeks (September 23 and 30).

*Penn split last weekend's Ivy League matches with defending champion Yale and Brown, falling to the Bulldogs 3-1 (after winning the first set) but roaring back to sweep the Bears on Saturday, 3-0. It was the Quakers' first win and first sweep of Bruno since 2019.

*Sophomore Bella Rittenberg had 18 kills across the weekend, nine in each match, and had 19 digs which was her career high and most by a Penn player this season. The sophomore has eight matches with double-figure kill total, four with double figures in digs, and two double-doubles (13/11 at NJIT, 12/11 vs. Rhode Island).

*Rittenberg also is hitting .329 across the Quakers' last three matches (33K-11E-67A).

*Sophomore Zada Sanger also has eight games with a double-figure kill total this season, including four of the last five matches (she had six vs. Brown last Saturday).

*Of particular note, Sanger had 22 kills in Penn's four-set win over Rhode Island on September 22, the most by a Penn player since Madison Risch opened the 2022 season with 22 in a four-setter with Niagara.

*Moore has settled in as Penn's setter in recent weeks, with 248 assists over the last six matches (10.33 a/s). She also has 53 digs and nine block assists over that span, and over the last seven matches she has 31 kills with just two errors.

*Freshman Ellie Siskin continues to improve as Ivy League play starts. Of note, in her Ivy debut (Penn's win at Princeton) the freshman had 15 kills and 14 digs (her second double-double of the season) and four service aces. Last Saturday, she put down nine kills with just two errors against Brown (hitting .304).

*Murray had 11 kills last Friday vs. Yale, her third match this season with a double-figure kill total, and the freshman leads the Quakers with 29.0 blocks this season (3s/26a).

*Yet another freshman, Jenna Garner, has become a reliable presence on the back line—she led Penn with 16 digs against the Bulldogs—but can also put them down as she has 50 kills on the season.

*Junior Abigail Reid has led Penn in digs each of the last two seasons and is doing so again this season, with 110 so far. She had 414 as a freshman (when she received honorable mention All-Ivy recognition) and 246 last season (when she missed much of the non-conference season due to injury). Reid was second among Ivy players in digs/set last year in conference play (4.49), and in 2022 she averaged 4.50 digs/set which was second among Ivy Leaguers and third among freshmen nationally.

*Penn's 3-1 win over Princeton on September 27 at the Tigers' Dillon Gym was the Quakers' first victory over the Tigers since 2015. In that match, Penn lost the first set but came back to win each of the next three in gaining the victory.

*Rittenberg and Murray were named to the all-tournament team at both tournaments that Penn played in this season, the Red Flash Classic hosted by Saint Francis (Pa.) in Week 1 and the Sonesta Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square Penn Invitational at The Palestra in Week 2.

*When Murray was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week in Week 1, she was the first Penn player to earn an Ivy weekly honor since Autumn Leak and Sydney Ormiston swept the Player and Rookie awards in Week 1 of the 2021 season.

*In part, Murray earned the honor because she put down 20 kills in Penn's 3-2 reverse sweep of Siena. In doing so, she was the first Penn player with 20 kills in a match in almost exactly a year. The freshman also had six blocks in that win (1s/5a).

*Juniors Jalen Tennyson and Anna Shohfi and sophomore Lauren Van Wie are this year's captains.
