PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team picked up a Big Ten win at home on Sunday afternoon, beating instate rival Penn State 6-1 to claim its sixth straight dual victory.
 
Penn's win over the Nittany Lions is the first since the 2021-22 season when the Quakers won 4-0 in University Park.
 
The duo of Eileen Wang and Maya Urata claimed the Red and Blue's sole doubles win over Alamo/Lebedeva, 6-4.
 
The Quakers rolled through the singles battles against Penn State, winning all six slots. Urata tied the match up at 1-1 after winning her bout in the sixth slot (6-0, 6-1), while senior Wang gave the Red and Blue the lead in the dual from a win in the #4 slot. Iris Gallo (#3) and Esha Velaga (#1) won their bouts to help clinch the singles points and match for Penn.
