PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team will open their 2026-2027 season at the Tribe Invitational in Williamsburg, Va at the College of William and Mary on Saturday and Sunday.

The invitational will take place at Mackesy Tennis Center at the Millie West Courts and the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center. The event will begin with two rounds of singles on Saturday morning, followed by one round of doubles in the afternoon. Sunday will see the singles' finals and doubles' semis and finals.

*Penn finished fourth among the top 10 teams in the Northeast region in the final ITA regional team rankings of the 2025-26 season.

*Senior Esha Velaga finished No. 2 in the ITA Northeast regional singles rankings to close out her junior year, while Lara Stojanovski finished No. 20.

*Velaga earned unanimous First-Team All-Ivy honors in singles and an All-Ivy honorable mention in doubles last season, along with partner Stojanovski.

*The Quakers' class of 2030, the No. 23 ranked recruiting class according to the Tennis Recruiting Network, will consist of Peien Deng, Athina Schlepphorst, Cookie Jarvis-Tredgett and Emma Tomova.

*In 2025, Stojanovski and Sasha Motlagh won the Tribe Invite doubles flight, going 3-0.
